The challenge was to sell this “sit-down engagement” in Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre. Despite being a critical darling and one of the company’s most inventive productions, Iris was not drawing a crowd in a town that would rather see a bad movie than a good stage show. So we turned a negative into a positive.
